Director

Pam Crowell checked onboard the Sheridan VA Health Care System in August 2017 as the new director. She came to Sheridan from the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston, S.C., where she was the Associate Director. Ms. Crowell has held several leadership roles including Associate Director, Assistant Director and Chief of Performance Improvement at the New Mexico VA Health Care System. Crowell began her VA career as a Canteen Management Trainee in Minneapolis, MN, and went on to serve as Chief, Canteen Service at Prescott VA Medical Center and Central Alabama Health Care System’s Montgomery campus. Crowell then completed the VA’s Health System Specialist Training program and served in that capacity at the Sioux Falls VA Medical Center, where she was instrumental in VA’s Carey Award program, the Kenneth W. Kizer Quality Achievement Grant program, and the President’s Quality Award, serving as a consultant and senior examiner. Ms. Crowell holds a bachelor's degree from Northern State University in Aberdeen, S.D., and a master's degree from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, S.D. She is a 2009 graduate of the Veteran Health Administration's Executive Career Field Program.

Associate Director

Todd McGraw has been with the Sheridan VAHCS since August of 2014, coming to us after retiring as an US Air Force Officer with multiple duty locations, the last of which was in Anchorage, Alaska. Todd was hired as our Chief Logistics Officer and hit the ground running, quickly incorporating into our VA culture and the Sheridan community. His “A-team” has been recognized at the facility and VISN levels as a top performer as well as nationally as a “Upper 12” service line. Todd’s commitment and dedication to our mission is unquestioned as during the past 4 years he has stepped into numerous roles to include Acting Associate Director and the Chief of Food and Nutrition Service. Todd has served on numerous committees and was the VISN 19 subject matter expert for the National Workforce Modernization efforts in Supply Chain Management which resulted in standardized position descriptions service wide. Todd’s wife Jill is also a retired Air Force Officer and is currently a Business Department Instructor for the Sheridan College and his son Eli just started middle school while his daughter Sydni is going into third grade.


Eric Crawford, Ph. D., Chief of Staff

Chief of Staff

Dr. Eric Crawford is the Chief of Staff for the Sheridan VA Health Care System and is responsible for management and support of clinical programs. Dr. Crawford earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Pacific Graduate School of Psychology at Palo Alto University in 2005 and will enter his 17th year of service in the VA in 2017. He began his career in the VA as an Extern and Research Assistant at the Palo Alto VA Health Care System in 2001 and went on to complete a pre-doctoral internship at the Durham VA Medical Center in 2005 and a post-doctoral fellowship in PTSD and Stress-Related Disorders at the San Diego VA Health Care System in 2006. Following the completion of his training, Dr. Crawford joined the National Center for PTSD at the Palo Alto VA Health Care System as a Cooperative Studies Project Director before transitioning back to Durham where he served for several years as Lead Psychologist in the Durham VA Medical Center’s OEF-OIF-OND Program coordinating and providing psychological services to returning Veterans with post-deployment mental health concerns and sequelae associated with polytrauma. Prior to joining the Sheridan system in the fall of 2015, Dr. Crawford operated as an Assistant Professor within Duke University’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and as Assistant Director of the Clinical Core within VA’s Mid-Atlantic Mental Illness Research Education and Clinical Center (MIRECC), engaging in collaborative research on post-deployment mental health and providing clinical consultation and program evaluation services to VISN 6 facilities and VA Central Office. Dr. Crawford has been an investigator or clinical consultant on randomized controlled trials evaluating augmentation of existing treatments for chronic PTSD, and contributed to recent research on the effectiveness of trauma-focused psychotherapy in subpopulations characterized by significant medical and psychiatric comorbidity, and factors that drive help-seeking behavior in returning Veterans.

Associate Director, Patient Care Services/Nurse Executive

Andrea L. Henderson is the Associate Director for Patient Care Services/Nurse Executive at the Sheridan VA Health Care System. Prior to joining the VA system at Sheridan VAHCS, she served as Designated Learning Officer for the Amarillo VA Health Care System. Henderson received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 1984 from Creighton University. In 2006 Henderson received her Master’s in Nursing Administration from the University of Phoenix. She has extensive clinical experience in the disciplines of Critical Care, Cardiovascular/Surgical Intensive Care, Transplantation, Medical/Surgical and Telemetry Units, Oncology and has instructed clinical student rotations for Amarillo College. She has acted in a variety of supervisory, educational and managerial roles.
